About Me
Em is a faculty member (MEd) for the Co-Active Training Institute's Coach Training and Leadership programs, a facilitator and leadership coach for the Roundtable Institute, as well as a Co-Active coach (PCC, CPCC), and a therapist (MSW, LCSW) for Philadelphia’s LGBTQ+ communities.
Like many of you, I have come to my career via a multiplicity of pathways.
I come to this work from clinical reproductive health care, having one-on-one conversations with people about the most vulnerable topics and helping them navigate issues of agency, choice, and consent.
I come to this work from the path of outdoor adventure programs, working with teens and young adults, witnessing challenge and adventure foster profound growth.
I come from political organizing, talking to strangers on the streets and doorsteps about issues that matter and finding ways to get our communities informed and engaged.
I come to this work by way of sex education for teens and adults, exploring the intersections between facts and values, practical learning and self-reflection.
And so on.
All of these paths have intersected and woven together to bring me here, as a coach, a therapist, an educator, and just a dang human.
Here’s what matters: I am an unapologetic stand for people knowing and growing themselves (and their world) in all of their mess, their brilliance, and their complexity. I believe that honesty and transparency, no matter how difficult, must be ground zero for change. And I’m an advocate for growth via the discomfort of exploration and experimentation.

Identities
For many people, having an overlap in identities and/or life experiences can be important. Here are some identities I navigate and am happy to share. This is not a comprehensive list, and you are welcome to reach out with questions about other identity overlap.
As you can see, some of my identities carry a lot of privilege and some are fairly marginalized. As I work with clients along lines of commonality and/or difference, I am committed to continuing to grow my awareness, knowledge base and affirmation of people of all identities and life experiences, especially along the lines of anti-racism, anti-colonialism, fat-affirmation, disability and accessibility, trans-affirmation, and queer inclusivity.
I am:
white
queer
nonbinary/genderqueer (pronouns: they/them)
a gestational parent
a survivor of sexual assault
an American citizen
neurodivergent
middle class
able-bodied
a homeowner in Philadelphia, on unceded Lenni-Lenape territory
We’re here to raise up each other’s voices
